The councilors of the PSOE in the city of Sewell, Rafa Martinez and Mari Carmen Mengual, have attended the inauguration of the renovation and expansion of the building of the local police, along with local and regional authorities.

The event was chaired by the Minister of the Presidency, Pedro María Reverte.

Rafa Martinez and Mari Carmen Mengual have claimed that "this is a very needed and demanded work on many occasions, and will pass on the good work of our staff not only from the local police, but also the firefighters and Civil Defense troops who also work in the same building. "

Also, the council recalled the efforts being made by the Government of Spain to improve public safety, in fact, the situation in which we find is very different from 2004 because during the Aznar government, not only increased the number of police, but declined in absolute numbers with respect to the troops which had the region in 1996.

Over the last five years the number of agents of the National Police and Civil Guard have grown by 51.1% from 1,177 agents in 2003 to 3,479 today throughout the region.
