State funds have invested more than EUR 63 million to improve sports facilities in the Region

The secretary general of the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia, Juan José Camarasa Castera and Sewer Mayor Lazaro Sanchez Mellado, participated today in the symbolic act of laying the foundation stone for the works to make the Polideportivo Municipal.

The works were carried out with funding from the Government of Spain through the State Fund for 2010 and have a budget of 2,230,000 euros.

They plan to create 51 new jobs.

Castera Camarasa explained that the works will include construction of a new running track and a football field with artificial turf.

Also built new dressing rooms and a grandstand beside the swimming pools.

On the other hand, will carry out the proposed placement of low voltage electrical system for the municipal football field.

Also explained that the City Sewer is receiving state funding in 2009 and 2010 a total of 11,388,914 euros is earmarked to finance 20 construction projects at the municipal level and two social projects for the maintenance of schools in the municipality, and the cleaning service centers.

The secretary general of the Government Delegation expressed his satisfaction with the high compliance of the commitments made by President Zapatero through state funding has already been entered in the accounts of the municipalities in the region of 336 million euros 400 million allocated.

These projects have created 19,762 direct jobs.

On the other hand, recalled that the Plan E 3 projects funded sports in the town of Sewell for an amount in excess of 3.4 million euros.

In this sense, Juan José Camarasa explained that the State Funds, 2009 and 2010 are financing 208 projects to improve sporting facilities in the Region of Murcia.

These projects will receive full funding from the Government of Spain for a total amount of 63,275,733 euros.

All of these projects is generated 3,692 direct jobs.

The projects have been submitted by 35 of the municipalities of the Community.

Finally, the projects highlighted by the volume of investment, construction of new sports halls Murcia (The Cagigal, 2.8 million euros), Cieza (2.5 million euros), heated pool Lorca (2.2 million euros), the Sports Center of Cartagena (La Aljorra, 1.7 million euros) and the aforementioned new Sports Sewer (Campoamor, 1.4 million euros).

He also explained that it has installed 33 artificial turf pitches in the region.

36 tracks have been built tennis and paddle courts, 3 swimming pools 6 more new and refurbished.
