Alcantarilla hosts the XXV Assembly of the Widows Federation of the Region of Murcia, its silver wedding (12/03/2017)

About four hundred widows, from all over the Region of Murcia, have met in the Infanta Elena de Alcantarilla Cultural Center, to celebrate the XXV Assembly of the Federation of Widows Associations of the Region of Murcia, 19 associations in total, having All its presidents a previous reception of both the counselor of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Government of the Region of Murcia, Violante Tomás and of Alcantarilla Mayor, Joaquín Buendía, being these accompanied of the president of the Federation, Charo Sánchez, along with The general director of Women, Alicia Barquero and the Councilor of Social Welfare, Sanitation and Consumption of Alcantarilla, Francisca Terol, welcoming them to Alcantarilla and showing them the excellent work they do in their different populations in the Region of Murcia.

Also grateful for the work carried out in the organization of this Assembly to the host, the Association of Widows Virgen de la Salud Sewer, with its president María del Carmen Rubio in front.

After the reception began the central event, where the attendees were able to see some video images, the same ones that were present last January at FITUR on Alcantarilla, to start the turn of interventions with the mayor of Alcantarilla, giving them to know our Population and inviting them to come to know if it fits even more our important points of tourism, as it is the Museum of the Huerta, or by Holy Week or in the Festivals of May.

Then the President of the Federation intervened, closing the first part of the Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunities, showing how many important actions have been taking in the Region and inviting them to stay united, working in their associations and taking advantage of how many actions From the Government of the Region.

One of the most emotional moments of the morning was when the organization wanted to pay a large tribute to the oldest widow in the Assembly, Dona Concha Lax Pina, who at 103 years and the arm of her daughter, the president Of the Association of Widows of Espinardo, went up to the stage to receive a bouquet of flowers from the Councilor and several memories of such an emotional act.

Previously had heard the song and already a hymn for all of them "I will resist" of the Dynamic Duo.

The Assembly then proceeded within the established order, already in the presidential table with Charo Sánchez Puertas, president of the Federation of Widows Associations of the Region of Murcia, Alicia Barquero Sánchez, director general of Women of the Region of Murcia, Nieves Pérez Rocha, Secretary General of the Confederation of Widow Associations Hispania CONFAV, Francisca Terol Cano, Councilor for Social Welfare, Health and Consumption of Alcantarilla City Council and María del Carmen Rubio Balastegui, President of the Virgen de la Salud Widows Association Sewer.

In an act that was presented by Radio Sintonía head of information, Carmen Manzanera.

The morning began at ten o'clock, with a solemn Mass in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, in the neighborhood of Campoamor, officiated by the parish priest, Rev.

D. Manuel Guillén Moreno, along with the consiliario of the Federation, the priest D. Francisco Moreno.

Sung by the Group of Choirs and Dances of the Museum of the Huerta, of the Peña "The Barracón" of Alcantarilla.

At eleven in the morning they were offered a breakfast in the premises of the Center of Older People, in the neighborhood of Campoamor.

To finish with a visit to the Museum of the Orchard and end a meal of coexistence in the restaurant-sale "The Peretón".
