The Alcántara Institute presents its AlcantarillaQR Project, continuing its commitment to offer the best training to students (26/01/2017)

In the morning of today in the Center of Citizen Participation and later in the facilities of the Museum of the Huerta in Alcantarilla, the Institute of Secondary Education Alcántara, has presented its great Project AlcantarillaQR, with a great presence of public, relatives of the students mainly .

With words of welcome from Alcantarilla Mayor Joaquín Buendía and grateful for the importance of the work they have developed in the educational center, management team, project coordinators, with teachers and students.

The director of IES Alcántara, Ginés Ruiz Bueno, together with the coordinating teachers of the AlcantarillaQR Project, announced the same, where the educational community, continuing its commitment to offer the best training to students, in collaboration with the Alcantarilla City Council, have developed a project in which 74 students from 1 ° ESO bilinguals participated in the project of Teaching XXI with iPad, 26 students of 2 ° ES bilingual Teaching XXI with notebooks, 19 students of 4 ° ESO Of Teaching XXI with tablet and 25 teachers of IES Alcántara.

The following participants were the real protagonists of the event, the students who have participated in the project and who have presented the works of the different areas: Biology, Informatics, French, English, Language, Geography and History, Technology and Mathematics.

Especially emotional has been the exposition of the area of ​​Language, based on interviews with the grandparents of students.

To carry out this great work have been using the ABP methodology (project-based learning), combined with the use of new technologies, has designed a project that has first allowed learning with a different methodology, bringing students to their traditions , Apply the knowledge acquired in the different subjects in reality.

As well, transmit the acquired knowledge using the new technologies.

For this they have created a material, many places of interest of the locality, so that any visitor can access the web pages created by the students that contain the information of each one of those points of interest.

For this, more than 50 QR codes have been created that the City Council will place next to the places of interest.

With this innovative project for first year students of ESO, who are in their first year in the school and with only twelve years, students have been able to: Learn, elaborate contents and transmit them.

In addition, they have produced materials that are available to the whole society in several languages.

Together with the management team of IES Alcántara, as we mentioned before, there have been relatives of the students, who have even participated in the work, especially grandparents of the same, the councilors of Education, Citizen Participation and Modernization, Juan Manuel Gómez, the councilor Of Culture, Tourism and Celebrations, María Luisa Martínez, who has worked closely with them as the Museum of Huerta is the focus of work, the Councilor for Sports and Youth, Antonio Martínez, as well as the Ministry of Education and Universities , Cristina García and Begoña Sánchez, of the Quality Education and Academic Management Services, as well as staff from the Education Inspection and CPR.

At the end of the presentation, the attendees went to check for the facilities of the Museum of the Huerta QR codes that were already operational in the same as a guided tour by the museum staff for the various rooms and rooms of the same.
