The Women's Director, Alicia Barquero, recently visited the Christmas schools in the municipality of Alcantarilla, co-financed by the Autonomous Community within its regional strategy of conciliation and co-responsibility.
These reconciliation resources serve 75 families in the municipality.
According to Alicia Barquero, "these services are fundamental to achieve full incorporation of women into the world of work, and with this type of resources we make it possible for children under 12 years of age to be cared for during holidays."
There are four educational centers in Alcantarilla that will provide this service until next January 7: Our Lady of the Assumption, Jacinto Benavente, Campoamor and San José Obrero.
Barquero stated that "these services allow the women and men of Alcantarilla can reconcile their professional activity with the participation of their sons and daughters in educational and leisure activities."
This resource is part of the strategy of conciliation and co-responsibility that is being carried out by the Community and in 2016 has had an economic endowment of 416,250 euros.
This budget allows the financing of conciliation services in the different municipalities of the Region, intended for the care of children up to 12 years of age whose parents are working or participating in training actions for employment.
The set of actions to foster co-responsibility and reconciliation of work, personal and family life is co-financed by the Operational Program of the European Social Fund of the Region of Murcia for the period 2014-2020.
In total, the Ministry is financing the Christmas schools of 22 municipalities, according to the requests made by the municipalities themselves, within the strategy of conciliation carried out by the Community.
The Christmas schools are carried out in addition to Alcantarilla, Águilas, Aledo, Alguazas, Archena, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, Jumilla, Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorca, Lorquí, Pliego, Ricote, San Javier, San Pedro Pinatar, Santomera, Torre Pacheco, Totana and Yecla.
