María Belén Belmonte, presented her book in which she shows the research work carried out at the IES Alcántara, when she was a student and with which she won the first prize of the Young Contest. Acoustic impact of the railroad as it passes through t (24/11/2016)

The Institute of Secondary Education Alcántara, was the place chosen by María Belén Belmonte Gómez, to present in the afternoon of yesterday his book "Acoustic impact of the railroad to its passage through the town of Alcantarilla", fruit of the research work, coordinated by His professor of the Department of Physics and Chemistry of said educational center and first prize in XXVII Contest Young Investigators 2014 held in the city of Malaga Mollina.

In the presentation was the author of the book and Professor José María Olmos, along with Alcantarilla Mayor Joaquín Buendía, as well as various members of the Municipal Corporation, IES Alcántara head of studies, María Teresa Saavedra and the spokesperson for the Pro Platform -Motoring of Murcia, Joaquín Contreras.

The prize was obtained by María Belén Belmonte, among the 40 works that were selected from the 346 presented to the contest and had to be defended by their authors at the congress held in October 2014. Research carried out in context Of the study on the acoustic impact caused by rail traffic in a densely populated area such as the Murcia municipality of Alcantarilla, a circumstance that has contributed to an increase in noise pollution.

By collecting, analyzing, comparing and evaluating diverse information, we are able to delve into the topic of acoustics as a branch of physics and as a type of pollution that has grown exponentially in recent years and can affect the health level in the people.

María Belén, is 20 years old and is currently a student of Chemical Engineering, and since her early years her inclination for technical matters lead to a local study on the noise of railroad traffic through her locality.

This first project is the result of his studies of Baccalaureate in the modality of investigation in IES Alcántara de Alcantarilla.

His musical studies in the Professional Conservatory of Music of Murcia as well as practicing sport have completed his dynamism and restlessness.

Currently his inclinations are to learn languages ​​and to travel.
