[Opinion article by Lara Hernández Abellán (01/03/2021)

To the mayor of my town: Yesterday, the highest representative of Alcantarilla, its mayor Joaquín Buendia, made a publication in the networks of a reflection or sermon type - I have not yet been able to choose between one of the two options to qualify it - and for which I consider that it is not acceptable to pass long.  It is not the first nor will it be the last in which you have to, in a similar way, read or hear disguised accusations or insults from this person.

Unfortunately, I have been getting used to them for five and a half years of plenary sessions, speeches, inaugurations, welcomes and congratulations always partial and tinted blue.  On this occasion he regretted the current distancing of citizens from politics and blamed all those "other politicians", in whom, of course, neither he nor all of his would be included, and that, according to his criteria, " they are the only ones who give embarrassing shows, those who have bad education, those of the lowest level and false intentions, the manipulators of information and those who have little or no capacity to be in institutions ”.  Almost as if it were God. Immediately after writing such an accusative reflection, right in the next paragraph, he began to point out and qualify his current political rivals, one by one, but without giving names, as do those who throw the stone hiding their hand or those who order an illegality to come out the victors after her and then blame even the workers of their house, those who have had no choice but to bow their heads. The mayor speaks, who made "strength and honor" his motto, of whom, according to his criteria, "are incapable of apologizing or contributing to a necessary climate of calm, dialogue and democratic debate", but he does it, to whom We have never heard an apology or admit a mistake; the one that inquisitively threatens workers or councilors if they do not remove personal publications from their own networks - among them myself one night years ago calling me at my own house at eleven o'clock at night-; The one whose voice does not tremble to ridicule a councilwoman of his corporation, in this case Aurora Ortega, imitating her in her speech with an old joke about the disappeared Gila; who is bothered by a rainbow that appears behind Mariola Tomás, a small screen, and warns with authority that he will try to get her to leave,as he did on another occasion with a similar flag that waved from the window of the IU-Verdes group and which he believes "his town hall" or "his own farmhouse." That same mayor who spent the previous legislature publicly disparaging a councilor for his lack of a curriculum, who was unable to separate politics from the personal and who denied us the greeting for years, or isolated us in institutional acts, being members of his same corporation and, moreover, before politicians, neighbors and neighbors of the same town.that he was incapable of separating the politics from the personal and that he denied us the greeting for years, or isolated us in institutional acts, being members of his own corporation and, moreover, before politicians, neighbors and neighbors of his same town.that he was incapable of separating the politics from the personal and that he denied us the greeting for years, or isolated us in institutional acts, being members of his own corporation and, moreover, before politicians, neighbors and neighbors of his same town.  The same person who has been able during the last plenary session to argue his interventions relying on the titles of several songs by a famous Italian singer and with the sole purpose of continuing to ridicule another Councilor for the Opposition, José Manuel López, and who, in In this case, in addition to doing his job, he is only guilty of being a fan of said singer and of having denounced an illegality. The same mayor who was silent when a comedian dedicated a cartoon to the current vice president of this Region where he justified his position in being a woman and having suffered a very serious illness; The one who on that occasion allowed officials from his own Party to applaud and share that chauvinistic and shameful joke and the one that when I asked him to show his rejection of that cartoon, he was only able to look at me haughtily and remain silent.  And that same person is the one who, now, judges, accuses and dares to say who does and who does not, are left over from our institutions. Mr.

Buendia, I am not the one to judge why the town of Alcantarilla has decided that you are their mayor.

I respect and will always respect that democratic decision and also each of the elected members who are part of its Government Team, but I do it in the same way in which I respect the rest of the people who are part of the Opposition, whether they are of one or another political color, because they were also elected by residents of Alcantarilla whom they also represent.

Never forget it. I have respected and respect the plural decisions that are adopted in a plenary session, although, unfortunately, most of the time they are not followed; I respect those who responsibly raise their hands to vote, for one option or another, and always defending the thinking of their voters; I respect any speech that is made from common sense and harmony, but I can never respect the authoritarianism and falsehood of those who, as you did yesterday, only accuse, belittle and ridicule their adversaries, even if they do it smiling or with the more extensive and studied ironic speeches or jokes.

And, of course, I will never respect the homophobic gestures of those who seek to hide such an inclusive and plural symbol as the rainbow.  Politics should be something else, Mr.

Buendia, we agree on that.  It should be much more true and much less of all that you wanted to pour out in your publication against people who also represent this people.

Different people, with different capacities or formations, but who have been able to take a step to improve Alcantarilla and who deserve much more respect from their highest representative.

People who only try, like those who preceded them, to control the work that you and your team do and who do it because that is their role as opposition.

People who should never be treated or singled out in the way that you did again yesterday after a tantrum, like the one a spoiled child would have after having his colors taken out or having been reprimanded for a failure, in your political case. Finally, you also accused those "divas of lost causes who have their lifestyle false and who act in a totally different way in their personal sphere."  Without wanting to enter the rag, or put myself on the same level, I would add that it is curious that it is you, precisely you, to whom there is no scenario that can resist, or photo in which you do not appear with your biggest smile, the one who Name in the most vile way the term "diva" to describe another or another political rival, entering and citing, above all, a personal life that he does not know and only in exchange for a handful of "I like you." It is not the first time that I use this phrase, but I cannot find a more appropriate one with which to conclude this text: Not everything goes, neither in life nor in politics. Before pointing out, the tale should apply, mr.
