The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, pointed out that "in total, the City Council and the Association of Merchants of Alcantarilla have put in circulation 13,000 euros in bonds to encourage sales and reactivate activity in our establishments, which have suffered the consequences of the pandemic". The campaign began in July and will run until December 31, until a total of 15,000 euros in discounts are distributed among the people who participate in the raffles organized by the Merchants Association through its Facebook page. The winners of the raffles receive a bonus with 10 'Alcoins', a fictitious currency that is equivalent in value to 10 euros, which can be discounted on purchases over 30 euros in any of the 150 stores adhered to the campaign. In addition, merchants will be able to put the 'Alcoin' back into circulation by buying in turn in stores in Alcantarilla or by raffling the bonds again among their customers. Do not stay out Starting this October, the City Council will reinforce its support for local businesses with the 'Don't stay out' campaign to encourage public confidence in the city's establishments, which respect and maintain hygiene and health standards to avoid contagion. "It is important to reactivate the local economy that customers once again believe in our stores and consume in the establishments of our city, which are the ones that give life to our streets and give us that close treatment that we value so much at this time", the mayor explained.
