The Governing Board of the Alcantarilla City Council today approved the management of aid to the user families of the Infant and Music schools of the municipality, in the face of the social, health and economic situation as a result of the pandemic by Covid-19 and the declaration of the alarm status.
The Municipal School of Music has 183 students and the Nursery School has 56 children.
The families of the students will receive a refund of the fee they paid for the month of March.
In addition, if classes were resumed, from that moment until the end of the course it would be free for families.
1, the City Council approved that the rates will be reduced by 50 percent from the start of the next academic year until December 31, 2020. With these measures, the families who use the Nursery and Music schools will save 73,000 euros.
The Governing Board was held electronically through the electronic administration platform Gestiona, and the councilors were decked out in huertanas, on the occasion of the Bando de la Huerta de Murcia festival, which had been held today.
More socio-economic support measures
This initiative is part of the initial program of socio-economic support for business activity and families that the City Council has launched and which will save half a million euros for the residents of Alcantarilla.
This program includes measures such as processing emergency social aid as a matter of urgency, paying in advance the scholarship aid for canteens of school students in the municipality and increasing social aid for families by 100,000 euros, up to 225,000 euros.
It is also contemplated to extend the terms of voluntary payment of circulation taxes (IVTM) and real estate (IBI), the suspension of seizures of current accounts until one month after the end of the state of alarm and the refund of amounts of fees paid for municipal services that have not been provided, provided that the legislation allows it.
In relation to business activity, the payment of this year's rate will be suspended for occupation of the public highway for hotels and restaurants, the payment of the fee for weekly market stalls and street vendors will be suspended during the state of alarm and will discount this rate until the end of the year.
The City Council will double the social bonus for the water bill and continues to analyze aid in relation to this service for businesses that have been forced to close during the state of alarm.
In addition, the City Council will give priority to the payment to suppliers, reducing the processing times of the files and will make personalized payment plans for the companies that request it.
Other initiatives for economic reactivation related to the tax reduction in work licenses and activity licenses, permits, fees and public prices are also being studied.
