Fifteen students receive the diplomas of the course "Socio-health care for people at home" (14/02/2020)

Fifteen students of the course "Socio-health care for people at home" today received the Level 2 Professional Certificate that accredits the studies they have completed.

The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, accompanied by the Deputy Director General of Employment, Francisca Munuera, handed out the diplomas and explained that "this initiative allows students, between 25 and 54 years, to improve their training to access a job. In fact, seven of the students who participated in the training action that took place last year are already working in positions related to the training received and three are preparing oppositions ",

This course, developed by the Department of Employment and Commerce of the City of Alcantarilla, is part of the Joint Employment and Training Program granted by the Regional Employment Service (SEF) to the City Council.

The peculiarity of this training is that it is intended for unemployed people over 25 years of age and that the students, while studying, have a work contract, which has lasted 9 months.

The program has alternated theoretical-practical training with work in the Home Help Service managed by Social Services of the City Council.

From last November to this month each student has accompanied a service assistant in the tasks of home care to users.

Students / workers have received training in hygiene and home health care, home psychosocial care and support, home support and family nutrition, prevention of environmental awareness, computer literacy, social economy and self-employment, gender equality, prevention of occupational hazards and resources job search and improvement.

The qualification they have obtained after the end of the program enables them to work in private homes, sheltered apartments and home and private care services.

For the development of this training action, the SEF granted the City a subsidy of 217,000 euros.

The Department of Employment has developed four Mixed Program of Employment and Training that have been Auxiliary Operations of Administrative and General Services (in 2016), Auxiliary Operations of Administrative and General Services (2017), Socio-Health Care for Dependent Persons in Social Institutions ( 2018) and Socio-Health Care for People at Home, who have collected their diplomas today.

200 people receive training

Around 200 people participated last year in Alcantarilla in one of the free training courses offered by the Department of Employment and Commerce.

By 2020, eight training actions are planned, from which 120 unemployed people can benefit for free.

The courses that will be developed this year are: Socio-health care for dependent people in social institutions, Dynamization of leisure activities for children and youth, Castilian and mathematical language proficiency, Facilities and maintenance of gardens and green areas, Auxiliary masonry operations, facades and roofs.

Three training projects will also be launched, aimed at groups that present greater difficulties for their labor insertion, which are Communication in Spanish and mathematical competence, Auxiliary operations of continuous coatings under construction and Auxiliary operations of factory and covered masonry, and that they have a workshop for the development of basic skills for employment.
