The Governing Board of the City Council of Alcantarilla has awarded the drafting of the construction project of the southern ring road of Alcantarilla, with an execution period of six months.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, explained that "it is one more step for the start of the works of this avenue, which will close the connection of the ring road that surrounds the municipality, will provide Alcantarilla with new accesses and improve connections with Our city".
The Autonomous Community approved in December of last year the granting of a subsidy to the City of Alcantarilla, for an amount of 300,000 euros, for this purpose.
The works include the drafting of the informative study, assistance to the procedure of public information, drafting of the construction project and assistance to the procedure of expropriation of the land for the construction of the southern variant of the municipality.
The southern ring road is an infrastructure of great importance for the municipality because it will allow the connection of the roundabout of Santa Ana Avenue, with Poeta Muñoz Hidalgo Avenue, thus closing a ring with Prince Avenue from the neighborhood of El Llano and Las Tejeras.
This avenue will have a length of approximately 1.8 kilometers and two lanes per direction, which will be a relief to traffic inside it, as well as a new connection with the West industrial estate and with the MU-30.
