The mayor exposes to the President of the Community the main projects of Alcantarilla (22/11/2019)

Buendía requested the support of the regional government to fulfill the commitment of integral burial made by former Minister De la Serna

The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, met this morning with the president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, to discuss issues of relevance to the municipality such as the drafting of the South variant project, finalizing the new General Urban Planning Plan, finalize the project to remodel the environment of the Ferris Wheel and the Aqueduct for the construction of a large leisure space and an auditorium, remodel the Huerta Museum, complete the sanitation works in the El Campico neighborhood and expand the center of Alcantarilla / Sangonera health.

Buendía stressed that "the president of the Community knows Alcantarilla perfectly and its needs because he has visited our municipality on numerous occasions, and is always close to our demands."

The City Council and the Autonomous Community will plan the construction of an auditorium in Alcantarilla to expand the cultural and social offer of the municipality.

Also, work will be done on the extension of the Pedro Hernández Caballero Day Center.

City Council and Community will continue to make investments in the West Industrial Estate to make it more attractive to investors.

The president was interested in the status of projects that are the responsibility of the Government of Spain such as the works of High Speed ​​(AVE) as it passes through the Las Tejeras neighborhood of Alcantarilla, and the mayor asked López Miras for his support and of the regional government to fulfill the commitment of integral burial made by former Minister De la Serna last year.

In addition, the construction of the sewer variant of the Cartagena-Chinchilla railway line was put on the table, whose contract for the development of the informative study was signed last July between the Secretary of State for Infrastructure and the City Council.

The intention is to reduce the period of two years that is planned for the drafting of the informative study.

They also discussed the works planned in AP-7 and MU-30 and the future link of the Northwest Arc to Archena, which will improve access to the municipality and its industrial areas.

The mayor informed the president about the construction of a new National Police station, "on land that the City Council yielded and we do not know the plans for its construction."
