The Local Police of the City Council of Alcantarilla will train this year more than 1,300 students of the schools of the municipality, between 5 and 13 years, in road education.
This training program has started this month with activities for students in 3rd grade (5 years), 2nd, 4th and 6th grade of Primary (7, 9 and 11 years respectively) and 2nd of ESO (13 years) .
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, who this morning attended the activities carried out in the Children's Traffic Park with a group of students in the 4th year of the Sacred Heart of Jesus School, explained that "the goal is for children to acquire knowledge of road training since childhood so that they know how they should act as pedestrians and when they ride on scooters, bicycles and even motorcycles, when they are older, and the little ones remind their parents of the rules and ensure that adults meet them. "
The students attended an interactive talk this morning about safety regulations, adapted to their age, at the premises of the Local Police and later moved to the Children's Traffic Park to practice what they learned as pedestrians, by bicycle and with an electric car.
This activity is offered to students of 4th and 6th grade of Primary school.
The Road Traffic Program of the Local Police offers talks for children in 3rd grade in the classroom and recreational activities of games and drawings on the rules of movement.
In 2nd grade the activity consists of a talk with projection in the classroom of the school on the main safety standards;
and in the 2nd year of ESO it is a talk in the classroom about safety rules and action in case of an accident.
In addition, since 2014 this training on road education is offered in bilingual mode to the centers that request it to enhance language learning.
Alcantarilla was a pioneer in launching this initiative.
The Alcantarilla Children's Road Education Park was inaugurated in 2008.
