Social Policy allocates 410,000 euros to a project to improve employment in the San José Obrero and El Campico de Alcantarilla neighborhoods (19/09/2019)

The Alcantarilla City Council will have a grant of 409,369 euros to carry out an innovative project in the San José Obrero and El Campico neighborhoods of the municipality, as reported by the vice president of the regional government, Isabel Franco.

The aid, financed by the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy and the European Social Fund, has among its objectives to increase the employability of those over 30, open advice points on access to housing or provide litter bins the neighborhood, among other initiatives.

It is about improving the urban environment and favoring the participation of citizens in making decisions about the changes to be made in the neighborhoods.

Franco highlighted the "importance" of the project, called 'Neighborhood Stories' and aimed at revitalizing a specific area of ​​the municipality.

In fact, he stressed his conviction that this action "will bring much good to both El Campico and San José Obrero."

This project includes a financial contribution of 68,228 euros this year.

In the next two years it will increase to 136,456 euros in each year and in 2022 it closes with another 68,228 euros.

The meeting, held at the City Council of Alcantarilla, was attended by the mayor, Joaquín Buendía, the General Director of Social Services and Relations with the Third Sector, José López Mellado, and the Councilor for Social Services of Alcantarilla, María Ignacia Domingo.
