Alcantarilla will celebrate on October 6 the already traditional act of Homage to the Flag and Jura de Bandera for civilian personnel, to commemorate the National Holiday Day.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, presented today the activities planned together with the colonel of the Alcantarilla Air Base and director of the Military School of Parachuting 'Méndez Parada', Francisco Javier Fernández, and the Delegate of Defense in the Region of Murcia, José Ignacio Martí.
The central act is scheduled on Sunday, October 6, in the Adolfo Suárez de Alcantarilla square, and will consist of the already traditional flag raising and Tribute to the Fallen by Spain, act of Jura de Bandera de Civil Personal, air and land parade the main street of the town and paratrooper exhibition by the Air Force Paratrooper Patrol (PAPEA).
The Tribute to the Flag has been celebrated since 2009, when Adolfo Suárez Square was inaugurated, with the collaboration of the Alcantarilla Air Base and the participation of military personnel from all units that are based at the Base, the Military School of Skydiving 'Méndez Parada', the EZAPAC (Squadron of Parachute Sappers of the Air Force), the PAPEA (Acrobatic Patrol Paratrooper of the Air Force), the 721 Squadron of Air Forces.
With the support also of the Music Unit of the General Academy of Air of San Javier.
In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, the Exhibition of Plastic Expression '12 de Octubre, the Fiesta de mi País', has been organized for fifth grade students of the schools in the municipality, in which more than 600 participate.
On October 3, starting at 11 am, the general rehearsal of the Tribute to the Flag event will be held in Adolfo Suárez Square, Lorca Station Avenue and Party Venue;
and on Friday, October 4, starting at 11 am, at the IES Francisco Salzillo, there will be an event for students participating in the IV Exhibition of Plastic Expression 'October 12, the Fiesta de mi País', with the screening of images of the work of the Military School of Parachuting 'Méndez Parada', the Squadron of Paratrooper Sappers of the Air Force (EZAPAC), the Acrobatic Paratrooper Patrol of the Air Force (PAPEA) and the 721 Air Force Squadron.
It will end with the delivery of the diplomas of thanks to the participating centers and the exhibition of all the students' work on October 6 in the Adolfo Suárez square.
The activities of October 6 will begin at 10:20 am with the entry of military training to Adolfo Suárez Square.
Subsequently, nine soldiers will deploy the Flag of Spain, which is 54 square meters and will be hoisted on the 25-meter-high mast located in the square, while interpreting the National Anthem, and civilian personnel, up to a maximum of 300 people, you can swear the Flag.
The event will be chaired this year by the Chief of General Air Command of the Air Force (MAGEN), Emilio Juan Gracia Cirugeda, along with the chief colonel of the Alcantarilla Air Base and director of the Military School of Parachuting 'Méndez Parada', Francisco Javier Fernández, and the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía.
Next, the Tribute to the Fallen by Spain will be celebrated, with the offering of a laurel wreath at the foot of the monolith, in which the Patron of the Air Force, the Virgin of Loreto, will be found, and there will be a salvage of rifle and T-12B Aviocar aircraft pass, belonging to the 721 Air Force Squadron of the EMP.
The Music Unit interprets the National Anthem.
The parade on the main street of the town will feature the participation of vehicles from the 721 Air Force Squadron of the EMP, the Speaking Squad, the Music Unit of the AGA and a mixed squad of the Military School of Parachuting and EZAPAC .
Finally, the Air Force Paratrooper Patrol (PAPEA) will hold an exhibition with a paratrooper launch, at the Fiesta Venue, and will display the flags of Spain, the Air Force and the Sewer in the air.
Flag Jura for civilian personnel
Those interested in swearing Flag may do so by submitting an application at the City Hall of Alcantarilla (1st floor) or at the Delegation of Defense, located in Murcia, from today until Friday, September 27, both inclusive.
All persons with Spanish nationality, who are 18 years of age at the time of the oath or promise, may swear in the Flag, and at least 25 years must have elapsed since the last time they took their oath or promise to the Flag.
The instance to be filled in can be collected at the Alcantarilla City Council or downloaded from the website www.alcantarilla.es, and it is necessary to provide a photocopy of the National Identity Document.
