The socialist Maria Jesus Barquero regrets that "on ten occasions" has asked the alderman of the neighboring town for the early transfer of a plot to expand the road and enable a sidewalk on the Constitution Avenue, as well as improving the layout and signaling of the Camino of the Arcs that the neighbors of the two populations use
The candidate of the PSOE of Sewer, Francisco Saavedra, closes a pact with Barquero "to solve common problems and to finish during the next legislature with the abandonment and the administrative forgetfulness that are suffering hundreds of alcantarilleros that reside in the bordering district"
The pedáneo mayor of Javalí Nuevo, María Jesús Barquero, has expressed her displeasure at the "little will" shown by the alcantarillero mayor, Joaquín Buendía, to solve problems that affect both population centers.
"In the hamlet there are 3,253 people, according to the Regional Statistics Center, of which some 900 are natural Sewer, but despite this there is no communication between administrations," says Barquero.
Such is the proximity that exists between both terms, that more than half a dozen street vials of Javalí are on the floor of the sewer town, such as Cristo Rey, San Esteban or El Lirio streets.
"Many sewers use our services, such as the doctor's office or educational centers," says the pedáneo.
However, Barquero regrets "the lack of collaboration" between the Municipal Board and the Consistory.
As an example of this, Barquero reproaches that throughout the legislature he has asked "ten times" the mayor, Joaquín Buendía, to mediate with the owners of a plot that belongs to the municipal term alcantarillero "to promote the early cession of the land. "
In exchange for this operation, the Municipal Board would finance the works to enable a sidewalk for pedestrians and expand the width of the lanes for traffic on Avenida Constitución.
"This avenue has a sidewalk on the side of Javalí Nuevo, but on the Sewer side there is no sidewalk for pedestrians, only orchard, and this situation, in turn, causes that at the end of this road, the road narrows so much that the circulation of vehicles passes from a double direction to a single one ".
Another problem that generates "discomfort and concern" within the Municipal Board is the state of Camino de los Arcos, whose ownership is Sewer.
Traffic accidents
"The Camino de los Arcos has asphalting problems, a dangerous narrowing in its layout for the circulation of vehicles, lack of signage and lack of shoulders despite the fact that minors use it to move to the Salzillo Institute," says Barquero.
The javalinera pedáneo reminds the alcantarillero alderman that "this road is used by both my neighbors and theirs and there have been many traffic accidents".
In fact, the last occurred in December when two vehicles collided and their drivers suffered various injuries.
"I started asking for solutions to Lázaro Mellado and I'm still the same with Joaquín Buendía."
Collaboration agreement
The socialist candidate for mayor of Alcantarilla, Francisco Saavedra, has moved to the district to be interested and know 'in situ' these problems.
"All the sewers are equally important, from the Adolfo Suárez square, through the Cabezo Verde, to those who live in the neighboring hamlet of Javalí Nuevo," recalls Saavedra.
The candidate has closed a pact with the pedánea for the next term "to solve common problems to both populations, through collaboration between the City of Sewer and the Municipal Board of New Javalí."
With this agreement, the PSOE candidate is committed to visit the parish monthly and hold regular meetings with the members of its Municipal Board.
"The objective of these visits and meetings would be to end the abandonment and administrative neglect suffered by hundreds of sewers in the hamlet, addressing the situation of the streets we share and finding solutions to neighborhood problems related to municipal services, such as cleaning, traffic and matters as important as citizen security ".
