The participants in the cultural program of immigrant women visited the town hall (16/03/2010)

In the morning the mayor of Sewell, Lazarus Mellado, together with the Deputy Mayor for Health, Social Services, Senior Citizens, Women and Immigration, have received in the plenary hall for immigrant women participating in the Women's Socio-Cultural Program Immigrant place in our town Radio ECCA Foundation.

Immigrant women from Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco, Mali, Peru, among other nationalities, have come together to visit City Hall and know how to develop the various municipal services in an open door.

Have had the opportunity to meet more fully those facilities as residents in our municipality is normally visit as citizen service, but also others who were blinded as Economic Area, Urban, municipal groups and extremely pleased with the local radio station Radio Tuning , where they have had the opportunity to see on the site and performing a live radio program and were interviewed in program "The Morning" by Pepe Imbernón, through the chief information Carmen Manzanera.

In the Plenary Hall had the opportunity to learn more Sewer life, customs and local political operation has.

They used to perform various questions to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, especially on labor.

Were accompanied by other citizens, immigrants and some with their own children.

Everyone wanted to be photographed with the mayor finally Sewer, Lazarus Mellado and have a souvenir of this visit, of great significance for them, the City Sewer.

Sociocultural Participation Project of Women Migrants from Radio ECCA Foundation, aims to provide immigrant women, a space to talk, express themselves, share feelings and experiences, to learn about the culture of origin, attempting a dialogue with indigenous people to change look and the image we have of immigrant women, and thus achieve the promotion of intercultural and tolerant attitudes, respectful dialogue and against racism and exclusion either by gender or nationality.

Having intended to promote social and cultural integration of immigrant female population and of all citizens, enhancing their personal development through activities that promote participatory processes, social cooperation and coexistence, achieving encouraging the expansion of ties and / or reciprocal relationships at all levels and in turn raising awareness of the importance of family involvement in education of children in the family, school and social life.

For this purpose, are conducting educational workshops and cultural activities in different schools where possible a good collection of immigrant women with the needs that our project is intended to cover, with the goals Radio ECCA Foundation with this project, to identify barriers between immigrant women face cultural participation.

Develop tools and spaces for social and cultural participation of immigrant women to integrate successfully and your family in the school and social environment.

Respond to identified needs among immigrant women about the social and cultural participation and raise awareness of immigrant women about the reality of today's woman.

The project is developed since last October 20, 2009 and until March 31, 2010.

The sessions are being given one day a week on Fridays from 9:00 to 11:00 pm in the CEIP Our Lady of Tears, headed by Torres, CEIP Cervantes, Molina de Segura, Our Lady CEIP of Consolation, Molina de Segura, CEIP Los Rosales, El Palmar, CEIP Nuestra Señora del Carmen, and municipality Alguazas Sewer through the Center for Social Services City Sewer (sessions in the residence facilities of Our Lady Health).
