Sewer Monday morning hosts an important information day (12/10/2014)

Monday morning starting at 10 am in the conference room of the Center for Citizen Participation Sewer, next to the Museo de la Huerta, retail fish businessmen, as well as frozen products Murcia, have an important appointment in our town as an information day, first organized in the Region of Murcia, the Retailers Association of Entrepreneurs and frozen fish products Murcia, presiding Joaquín Carrasco Pellicer, belonging to the same National Federation will be Provincial Associations Retail Entrepreneurs Fish and Frozen Products (FEDEPESCA), which represents 7,200 retail companies of fishery products of the approximately 10,000 existing.

On this day The speakers participating Spanish Fisheries Confederation (CEPESCA) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) of the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) and the National Federation of Provincial Fish and Retail Entrepreneurs Frozen Products (FEDEPESCA).

FEDEPESCA Murcia organizers and the Association of abovementioned Sewer choose to be your fish market in the Municipal Fish Market of San Pedro Apostle, located at the junction of the highways and the Northwest Mediterranean towards Andalucia, the second largest inland Spain, only behind MERCAMADRID in the capital.

FEDEPESCA, in collaboration with The Association of Retail Entrepreneurs of Murcia and frozen fish products, has launched the "PESCAVERDE project: Formation of consumers and professionals in the retail fishing in the Common Fisheries Policy and Fisheries Sustainability in the European Union and consumer information influencing gear and allergens, "funded by the European Fisheries Fund 2007-2013 and the Biodiversity Foundation.

The "PESCAVERDE" project was developed in two areas:

Axis 1: Introduce the Sustainable Fisheries Policy, aimed at professionals specialized in the sale of fishery products and consumers, so that they are aware of the efforts of government and industry to ensure a fishing industry and sustainable from an environmental, economic and social spheres aquaculture.

Axis 2: Labelling of fishery products with special emphasis on the new additions that came into force on December 13, 2014 related to the gear set out in the European Regulation 1379/2013 concerning the CMO (Common Organization markets) and the obligation to indicate the ingredients causing allergies in the case of food presented for sale unpackaged or packaged at the buyer's request, contained in Regulation (EU) Parliament and Council 1169/2011, on food information to consumers.

Ultimately, Murcia Association wants both retail professionals and consumers, are able to interpret the labeling of fish products to a responsible choice and meet sustainability policies applied in the European Union.

The "PESCAVERDE" project will be developed in Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias and Murcia.

As part of this initiative, we have developed guidelines, brochures, videos and a project website to facilitate communication with our partners and customers in the regions covered by the project.

In the coming months fishmongers receive three brochures to distribute to your customers.

Brochure Common Fisheries Policy and Sustainability: In order to make consumers aware of the efforts of the government and the fishing industry and to convey the products we sell in our fishmongers are environmentally sustainable.

Brochure and allergen labeling: In order for customers to learn more about innovative information to the final consumer that take effect from December 13, 2014.

Brochure gear: In order to make consumers aware of the different gears used for catching fish.

Also exist three guides oriented professionals in order to educate them on these issues so that they can comply with the new legislative obligations and inform their customers.

The guidelines on information provided to the end consumer gear guide and the guide on Common Fisheries Policy and Sustainability will be available in online format on the website www.pescaverde.org for download further guidance on information to consumers will paper distributed.

These guidelines are useful for updating the sector will also receive printed guide on traceability and food information to the consumer.
