Next Thursday, the Women's Awards 2018 will be held (05/03/2018)

Alcantarilla delivers on Thursday its Women's Awards to Raquel Toledo Gómez, taxi driver in the municipality and founder of the group of solidarity taxi drivers "Get on a taxi in life", the Individual prize.

And to the Jairis Basketball Club for its UCAM Jairis team, the Institutional prize

Next Thursday will be held the Women's Awards 2018, which on the occasion of the activities scheduled for March 8, International Day of Women's Rights in Sewer, at 12:00 in the auditorium of the "Infanta Elena" Cultural Center, where the two awards established in the Individual and Institutional category will be handed out.

Tomorrow begins the program of activities that the Town Hall of Sewer, through the Department of Social Welfare and Health, next to CAVI Sewer have prepared, not only for this week, but also throughout the month of March and ending the next 18 of April.

The prize in its Individual category will be awarded to Raquel Toledo Gómez, taxi driver of our municipality, being an example of a working woman who promotes equality and breaks stereotypes, and for her involvement through commitment and struggle, collaborating in various solidarity campaigns in different social areas, as it is being one of the four founders of the group of women taxi drivers "Women for Love to Taxis", who at the national level launched the campaign "Get on a taxi in life" and that from the beginning after the evaluation They decided to present their different solidarity actions to the Cris Contra el Cáncer Foundation, which is a private and independent entity whose objective is the promotion and financing of research projects for the treatment and cure of this disease. .

Today, hundreds of taxis from all over Spain participate in this campaign.

In the Institutional category, the prize is for the Jairis Basketball Club, presided over by Mariano Vivancos, to its women's basketball, to the "UCAM Jairis" team, highlighting the contribution of this Club for the promotion of women's sport, specifically basketball, both in the Sewer, as well as at the regional and national levels, as well as the promotion of equality through awareness and visualization through participation in campaigns.

Next Tuesday, at twelve o'clock in the morning, the winners will be received by the Mayor, as usual, at the City Council, giving them the agreement of the Governing Board of February 27, which were designated the same .

The awards will be given by the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía and the councilor for Social Welfare and Health, Francisca Terol, who will also be reading, in the act of next Thursday, the Manifesto March 8, which at institutional level has been planned from the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

These Awards, which are awarded in its X edition, are part of the events scheduled by the City of Alcantarilla on the occasion of the International Day of Women's Rights, at Institutional and Individual level, creating them in order to recognize the work developed by those people or entities that in their life or doing daily, favor and help a full integration of women in the labor, social and cultural reality of the municipality.

Next Tuesday, March 6, the activities programmed with the "Women's Meeting" will begin, which from 10 am to 12 noon will be held in the auditorium of the Senior Citizen's Residence "Virgen de la Salud", in the who will participate: Copedeco, Caritas, Barrios Coordinator and the Social Welfare Department.

In the afternoon, at 6:30 p.m., at the Casa de la Juventud, we will have a colloquium talk "Prevention of falls", in which the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users will participate, together with the Association of Widows "Virgen de la Salud" of Alcantarilla, with the collaboration of Caser Residencial.

On Wednesday, March 7, we will have a Relaxation Workshop, at the Residence of the Elderly "Virgen de la Salud", at 10:30 am, being taught by the CAVI Sewer Psychologist, Patricia Santesteban.

On Thursday March 8, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., from the Department of Social Welfare and Health, there will be a distribution of coasters, which will be given to all employees of our City Council, on the occasion of this International Day.

At 12 o'clock in the morning, the aforementioned X Gala for the Women's Prizes will begin at the Cultural Center "Infanta Elena" and in the afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., at the Citizen Participation Center, next to the Huerta Museum, will present the book "Ole my heels", Mati Morata, to all attendees, while supplies last, will be presented with a copy of the book.

Within the scheduled activities, next month, on April 18, from 4 pm to 6 pm, at the "Infanta Elena" Cultural Center, with the collaboration of Pedro Martos Carrillo, giving a Self-protection Workshop.
