The Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, together with the Councilor for Education, Juan Manuel Gómez, have been waiting for the start of the new 2017-18 course in our municipality in the three secondary education institutes, "Francisco Salzillo", "Sanje" and "Alcántara", as well as in the concerted centers Samaniego and Sacred Heart.

At the opening hour were present at the institute Alcántara, next to the head of studies of the same, Maria Teresa Saavedra.

Buendía has wished a good course to students and teachers and has asked for the collaboration and involvement of parents in the educational process of their children as a fundamental part of the good functioning of the educational community.

The information obtained from the Department of Education, is that the start of classes in the Sewer centers has been of absolute normality, in which 2,640 students of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), 206 more than last year have been incorporated into his classes.

This course has opened more secondary units in the IES Alcántara and IES Sanje.

In Bachillerato we find in this course 2017-2018 with 901 students, twenty-nine more than in the past course.

As a notable novelty is the beginning in our locality of the modality of Bachillerato of Arts in the IES Francisco Salzillo.

Alcantarilla has five educational centers with Bilingual services ("IES Francisco Salzillo", "IES Alcántara", "Samaniego", "IES Sanje" and "Sacred Heart").

The students of Early Childhood and Primary Education, started on September 7th, today do Secondary and Baccalaureate, while Vocational Training and Adult Education will do next Monday 25.

For purposes of schooling, for the Secondary Education Centers of our municipality, is considered a unique area, in addition this zone of influence extends to the bordering districts.
