The Alcantarilla Early Care Center serves 80 children with developmental problems or risk of suffering them (27/06/2017)

The Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, visited with Alcantarilla Mayor, Joaquin Buendia, the new municipal center for Early Childhood Development and Care, which serves 80 children with problems in their development, and the Community finances with 44,212 euros through the Imas.

The alterations or deficiencies of these children who are currently cared for are: psychomotor alteration, attention deficit, and language impairment;

Psychomotor or cognitive delay;

Sensory deficit;

General developmental disorder-autistic spectrum;

Encephalopathy and biological risk.

Violante Tomás stressed the importance for the regional government to provide this service aimed at children, their families and the environment of children with disorders in their development.

"The cognitive and sensory-motor stimulation, the psychomotricity, and the activities of speech therapy, physiotherapy and psychology that they receive in this center are fundamental for their later quality of life."

The counselor also referred to the new decree that last the Autonomous Community to regulate Early Care.

"For us, it is a priority to give specialized attention to children under the age of 6 who have problems in their development or risk of suffering," said the counselor, who recalled that "we are working on the decree regulating Early Care to be a Public service, universal and free for all these children and their families. "
