The Department of Social Welfare, Health and Consumption of the Alcantarilla City Council has planned a series of activities and programs, within the Municipal Drug Addiction Plan, for the 2016-2017 school year, which are being developed in our municipality, in relation to prevention in Drug addiction.

These are mainly of a preventive nature and aimed at children of school age, ranging from 3 to 16 years old, which includes both the Primary and Secondary Education Centers and the secondary schools in the municipality.

Greater emphasis is placed on Secondary courses, these ages being where there is a possible start to drug use.

The programmed activities are the ARGOS Community Program, for students of 1st of ESO, as well as the III Workshop of Drugs, for students of 3rd of ESO.

As an initiative, for this 2016-2017 course, a School for Parents will be held, aimed at parents of 3rd grade students from secondary schools, and with the aim of promoting communication and relationships between Parents and children.

This School will be held between February and April of this year 2017, in 12 sessions, where they will work in separate spaces, adults and children, and then work together the whole family.

The FAMILIACTIVA project has been designed by the Department of Social Welfare and Sewer Social Services Center, with the support of the Department of Education, and financed with funds from the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs of the Ministry of Health , Social Services and Equality, provided by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia to the Foundation for Health Training and Research of the Autonomous Community of Murcia (FFIS).

The sessions will begin on February 13, with the following calendar of dates: 13, 20, 27 February and 6 March (adults).

15, 22, February and 1, 8 March (adolescents).

And finally, on March 15, 22, 29 and April 5 (adults and teenagers together), taking place from 17:30 to 19:00 hours, or from 19:00 to 20:30 hours, to be determined based on The demand, as well as the place (s) to be developed.

The prevention of drug dependence includes both intervention aimed at eliminating or minimizing risk factors that allow abusive substance use, as well as enhancing protection factors that reduce possible situations of onset of consumption of toxic substances.

Within the family context, communication is a fundamental tool that enables and opens paths for our adolescent children to face and manage the greater or lesser difficulties that arise habitually, both in the family and social.

In addition, this allows us, as fathers and mothers, to carry out from the family environment a prevention towards the possible beginning of consumption of toxic substances in promoting this factor of protection.

Through this school of parents, it is intended to support and accompany families in the challenge of exploring and re-elaborating their stories of communication, from their capacities, resources and strengths.

It is aimed at families who wish to work on their family communication, whether or not there are previous difficulties.

For more information and inscriptions can be done at the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services Center, located on the main street, above the Plaza de Abastos and the phone 968 89 80 65.
