Sewer submits its application to participate in the initiative SEWER SMART INFO (06/05/2016)

In the call for Red.es, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, there have been 108 local authorities and groups of local authorities, with a total of 100 million euros for the chosen projects, Sewer is three million euros

The Mayor of Sewell, Joaquín Buendía Gómez, accompanied by the Councillor for Employment, Industry, Trade and Environment, José Antonio López Olmedo, and computer technician of our City, Maria Jose Garcia Aledo, presented at the headquarters of the entity Red.es public business, SMART INFO SEWER Sewer initiative which participates in the Second Call for Smart Cities of the Digital Agenda for Spain.

The objective of this call, launched by Red.es (public company under the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society), is to promote the use of ICT in the development of cities and territories, in order to positively impact the economic development opportunities, quality of life of its citizens, and the level of public services they receive.

This call initially had a budget of 48 million euros, and later expanded to 100 million euros.

These aids will compete in a competitive basis, the 108 requests from local entities or groups of local authorities that have been submitted to the call.

The SMART INFO SEWER initiative by the City Sewer this call has a budget of just over three million euros (of which the City will contribute 25%), and includes four strands: SMART ENVIRONMENT, SMART LIVING, SMART SMART MOBILITY and PEOPLE.

For the Mayor of Sewell, Joaquín Buendía, "the four axes incorporate a large number of actions which include the installation of a network of stations environmental measurements, information systems and control center emergency communications applications incident by citizens, information and guides heritage, sound environment in all public places, digital information systems throughout the city, network access in public areas, installing video cameras to improve safety and traffic control " .

Buendia, said it is "definitely a future project that the City is being incorporated, which aims to incorporate technology to serve the public in all those aspects that have to do with municipal services, and accelerate its implementation the achievement of the grant of Red.es ".
