Alcantarilla joins the group of municipalities adhering to the Integral System of Tourist Quality in the Region of Murcia (04/12/2020)

| The historical-architectural complex of the Aqueduct Park is the main tourist attraction of the city, which embodies the slogan 'Where the garden is born' | As of today, Alcantarilla is part of the set of 18 municipalities in the Region of Murcia integrated into the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destinations (Sicted), which recognizes the quality of tourist destinations. The mayor, Joaquín Buendía, today signed the adhesion agreement with the Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, and pointed out that "Alcantarilla, as our slogan says, is the municipality where the garden is born and a reflection of our rich heritage we have the Museum of the Huerta, the Noria and the Aqueduct Park ". This commitment to tourist quality supposes the fulfillment of a series of requirements that mark the quality standards.

To achieve this, the program has 32 manuals of good practices, as well as technical assistance visits by approved consultants, collective workshops, working groups that develop proposals for improvement and evaluations that contrast the quality of the establishments. The Integral System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations (SICTED) aims at the integral and permanent management of quality in a tourist destination to achieve a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourists. Where the garden is born 'Sewer, where the garden is born' is the tourist slogan of the municipality, a value that is represented in the historical-architectural environment that forms the Museum of the Garden with the Noria and the Aqueduct. The environment houses the three main tourist points of the town, which are part of the Aqueduct Park, an area of ??25,000 square meters, classified as an Area of ??Cultural Interest, due to the architectural elements of great heritage value that it includes, and will have vegetation, trees, a kiosk-bar, a children's play area and the Los Arcos Auditorium. The historical complex is made up of the Noria, the Aqueduct, the Huerto de las Canales archaeological site and the Huerta Museum, which are a benchmark of water culture in the Murcia Region. The Huerta Museum, in addition, together with the routes 'Alcantarilla 10,000 steps' and 'Alcantarilla Ayer y Hoy', is included in the 'Discover Alcantarilla' tourist program, with which the information points of the routes through of an app, which visitors can download on their mobile devices.
