Alcantarilla will host on March 1 one of the most popular events in the world of sports racing, this is the VII Race "Alcantarilla Air Base", fifth test of the Running Challenge 2020, which is organized by the Air Base of Alcantarilla, with the collaboration of the City Council of Alcantarilla, through the Department of Sports, the hamlet of Sangonera la Seca and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, and the Colonel Chief of the Alcantarilla Air Base and director of the Méndez Parada Military School of Parachuting, Francisco Javier Fernández, presented the race poster today.
The race has a distance of 14 kilometers and there is the possibility of running 5 kilometers.
The departure is at 10 am in the main street of Alcantarilla and the route is urban.
In the distance of 14 kilometers the interior of the Air Base is crossed.
Among the novelties of this year is the possibility of making the distance of 5 kilometers walking.
In total, more than 3,000 people are expected to participate in the test.
The mayor of Alcantarilla explained that "this race is very successful and is one of the most anticipated by the runners through the urban circuit and the possibility of touring the Air Base, so much so that there are already 2,100 people registered and there is still almost a month for your celebration. "
Another of the novelties is that before the departure of the corridors, the flag of Spain will be raised in the Adolfo Suárez square.
In addition, the race is solidarity and in this edition the proceeds will go to the AMPA of the Public School of Special Education "Eusebio Martínez" of Alcantarilla, the Murcian Association of Cystic Fibrosis and Cáritas Castrense.

The numbers may be picked up at Decathlon Murcia Oeste (Industrial Estate of Sangonera la Seca) on Friday, February 28, from 12:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday, February 29, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:33 p.m.
They can also be picked up on Sunday, March 1 at Plaza Adolfo Suárez de Alcantarilla, from 8:00 to 9:40.
The first three absolutes will be awarded in the 5km test, as well as the first three of each category established in the 14km.

The runners will have at their disposal a free luggage service, as well as changing rooms, toilets, showers and physiotherapists in the Pavilion "Association of Friends of Futsal", next to the Jara Carrillo school in Entrevías.
