The Plenary asks the Ministry to fulfill the commitments acquired for the construction of a new National Police station in Alcantarilla (31/10/2019)

The Plenary of the City Council of Alcantarilla will urge the Ministry of Interior to comply with the commitments made for the construction of a new National Police Station in Alcantarilla, and the Government Delegate to ask the Government to tender the police station as soon as possible and to report to the Municipal Corporation of the efforts made, as approved this morning unanimously.

The spokeswoman for the popular municipal group, Francisca Terol, explained that the first commitments for the construction of the new police station were acquired in May 2016 when he was the General Director of Police Ignacio Cosidó.

In 2017, the City Council made available to the Secretary of State for Security a plot of 1,800 square meters on Calle Mayor José Legaz Saavedra, next to the children's garden of the Torrica neighborhood.

The following general director, Germán López, ratified the agreement and promised to tender the works between 2018 and 2019.

In addition, in the budgets of the year 2018, around 100,000 euros were recorded for the work and a commitment acquired for multi-year investments of up to 2 million euros.

Terol recalled that "none of the commitments have been carried out and year after year we continue with a Commissioner who does not meet the conditions for agents to carry out their work safely."

The City Council also unanimously elected the Justice of the Peace who will exercise this position for a period of 4 years, and that will be Gregorio López López, according to the vote held in plenary.

The Plenary approved, with the agreement of all political groups, the "Municipal City Sewer Protocol for municipal action in environmental episodes of pollution by nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particles (PM10)", which determines the measures that at the municipal level they will be adopted in case of exceeding NO2, PM10 and other substances.

It is a local tool aimed at protecting the population, reducing air pollution in situations where the thresholds of information and warning regulated in state regulations are exceeded, as well as proposing generic measures to be carried out by the population to improve Air quality in the municipality, especially in relation to pollutants whose values are exceeded.

The protocol establishes, for each of the two pollutants, three levels of action, level 1, preventive;

level 2, corrective and level 3, alert.

Underground train tracks

Also by agreement of all the groups it was approved to urge the Ministry of Development to carry out the underground of the 500 meters of train tracks from the Roman Road to the MU-30 highway.

In today's session, it was unanimously agreed to require the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) to present a detailed plan for cleaning and maintaining the channels that correspond to its scope in the municipality of Alcantarilla.

Likewise, they ask that the plan have an adequate and sufficient economic heading for its execution and that it guarantees the cleaning of the problematic channels.

Institutional declaration on the incidents in Catalonia

The Plenary approved, with the votes in favor of all political groups, an institutional declaration, given the serious disturbances that are occurring in Catalonia, expressing its rejection of any type of violence and its commitment to defend the Constitution and the current legality.

In addition, the work of the State Security Forces and Bodies is appreciated and violent acts condemned by radical elements in Catalonia are condemned.

The declaration also includes urging the Government of Spain to adopt the necessary measures to defend the Unity of Spain and the Constitution, with the support of the Plenary of the City Council of Alcantarilla.

The Plenary rejected the proposal of Citizens for the realization of a study to implement the public television service in Alcantarilla;

and a motion by the PSOE on LED street lighting in the municipality, as argued by the City Development and Historical Heritage Councilor, Juan Antonio Mata, "an energy audit has already been carried out and the lighting is being corrected and adapted to the needs of each street. "
