The Association of Friends of the Museum of the Huerta de Alcantarilla, receives in Murcia the Tribute for the Defense and Conservation of the Patrimony 2019, that annually grants the Association Patrimony Siglo XXI (03/06/2019)

In the course of the act also a book was presented on the occasion of this award, dedicated, in memoriam, to Diego Pacetti López, president of the Association of Friends of the Huerta Museum from the foundation until his death.

The Association of Friends of the Museum of the Garden receives the Tribute by the Defense and Conservation of the Patrimony 2010, that has granted the Association to him Century XXI, in an act celebrated in the afternoon-night of Sunday in the Hotel Occidental Murcia 7 Crowns, Presided by the president of the said Association, Germán Ramallo and diploma of recognition that was collected by the president of the Association of Friends of the Museum of the Huerta de Alcantarilla, Pedro Marín Saura, with the assistance of the acting mayor of Alcantarilla Joaquín Buendía.

Once again, the Cultural Association of the XXI Century, of Murcia, annually awards its tribute to a person or association that has distinguished itself for the defense of our historical, artistic and cultural heritage, and in this case, the distinction has fallen to the Association of Friends of the Ethnological Museum of the Huerta de Murcia in Alcantarilla.

For this, the very important action of this large group of people has been valued for the revitalization of said Museum and all the surroundings that depend on it.

In the course of the act a book written for the occasion was presented with articles by Martínez Arnaldos, Martín Lillo, Elena Montaner, Riquelme Manzanera, Alfonso Moraga and Germán Ramallo.

The book is dedicated, in memoriam, to Diego Pacetti López, president of the Association from the moment of its constitution until its death, in November of 2017.

As indicated by the president, Germán Ramallo, "the Association was constituted in 1990, twenty-two years after the creation of the Museum that took place in 1968, promoted by Mr. Diego Riquelme Rodríguez, mayor of Alcantarilla de feliz memoria, who was assisted From the wise museologist D. Manuel Jorge Aragoneses, the Museum was once a pioneer in Spain and greeted with real admiration, but a few years later Diego Riquelme himself denounced the abandonment and neglect that was falling and, in 1991, he did in writing in the book: Process to the Museum of the Huerta, in which he specified all his fears ".

Ramallo continued saying that "it was then when the Association took as its main mission to work for and for the Museum, until returning it to the place it occupied in its first years of existence, and succeeded. Asleep institution and took under its responsibility the edition of the magazine Cangilón, directed by Fulgencio Saura Mira, aided by a solid writing team, of which 36 issues have already been published that host articles of fundamental importance for the study of traditions, uses and customs of La Huerta and its rural heritage in the broadest spectrum ".

On the other hand, the acting Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, thanked this recognition for the Association of Friends of the Museum because to distinguish this Association is to do it to the Museum of the Huerta and to the set of the alcantarilleros that have in this Museum a unique badge from the city.

At the same time, Buendía undertook to complete all the projects for the expansion and enhancement of the Huerta Museum and its surroundings to make it an important and exclusive regional tourist attraction.
