Finally, the proposal to install a New Year's tent promoted by young people from Alcantarilla and that had more than 1,500 signatures of support will not be carried out.

Despite having been approved in plenary through a motion of Podemos.

The municipal government of the PP has been excused by means of a publication in the web of the City council in which it attributes to the Association of Merchants of Sewer the final decision.

According to the municipal government, the merchants have not seen interest in organizing the event and therefore will not be held.

Before the commotion caused in social networks, the merchants have published a "clarification" on their Facebook page in which they affirm that the realization of this type of events is the responsibility of the Concejalía de Festejos y Cultura, in no case of the merchants.

The original motion presented by Podemos moved the proposal of the young people entirely, so that it would be the City Council who would organize the event, inviting, however, to participate to the innkeepers of the municipality.

In fact, one of the young people intervened in the Plenary asking the councilors "do not fail us, here there is a lot of willingness to do things, but when we young people propose something, we are no longer".

The problem is found in an amendment introduced by the socialist councilor Lara Hernández that forces merchants to participate in the realization of the event and that was introduced in the motion with the only votes of the PSOE.

In fact, in its "clarification", the Merchants' Association asks that before involving any association in the realization of an event, they must notify it before voting it in the Plenary.

"The PP has used as an excuse a sloppy amendment of the PSOE to not carry out the proposal of young people, condemning them to not be able to enjoy New Year's Eve in Alcantarilla," said Arcadio Martinez, Councilman of We Can Sewer, "we warned that the PP did not want to work for this proposal, because they did not vote for it, and they have had the nerve to blame the merchants ".

Podemos Alcantarilla has ensured that it will include this proposal in its electoral program and that it will submit an amendment to the Budgets for the City Council to carry it out.
